Bill and Jan Smith have served in the local church for over 45 years before retiring August 31, 2026 and moving back to family land in Avery, TX. Since 2014 they have served in Vermont, first as church planting missionaries before planting and launching New Creation Fellowship in Chelsea, VT in October of 2015.
Previously Bill served in churches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas as a minister of music and (youth, education, outreach or administration) from 1978 – 2014. Jan has served by his side since their marriage in 1993 working with children and leading out specifically in the areas of children’s ministry, children’s choirs, and VBS.
Bill and Jan have 3 grown children: Jeremy, wife Bettye and daughter Sierra; Katie, husband Andy and sons, Ryne, Greer, and Hayes; and Betsy, husband Alan and son Hayden.
They believe God is calling them to a ministry of encouragement to local pastors/ministers and their wives through prayer, words of encouragement and supply preaching/leading as they are needed.
